ok im about 40mins in and so far great movie. i was about 13 when this came out so wasnt my type of movie at that age but now it is lol. anyways ok when mike sulliva aka tom hanks goes to the club to give a letter to the calvechio guy or i guess hes the manager of the place and gives him a letter, on the letter it says kill mike sullivan and all debts are paid. being that sullivan is always aware of his surroundings he gets the gun first and kills him and his body guard guy. next scene shows daniel craigs character shooting sullivans wife and youngest son. why did rooney do this? i probably answers my qeustion right here but is it because young mike jr found out about his dads job and rooney was afraid that word might get out and all of them would be in prison? lol thx also what did you think of the movie

the daniel craig character is jealous of the tom hanks character, because the paul newman character has a better relationship with the tom hanks, than with his own son (daniel craig), and paul newman and the other mobsters have no respect for him. daniel craig sets tom hanks up to be killed in the speak-easy, and tries to kill the rest of his family himself. he figured with tom hanks out of the way, his father would have to take him more seriously and he would take tom hanks place in the mob.

even though it’s pretty bloody and violent, i really like the movie. i grew up in rural illinois, and in the scene where tom hanks is looking through all the bank account information, there’s a check from the kankakee savings bank, which is where i lived. i liked how he was able to save his son from having to grow up to be like him.
