Tell me what you think about this business idea?
I have always wanted to own a bookstore and have dreamed about it since I was a kid. I watched a movie once…You;ve got mail. Meg Ryan has a cute little bookstore and Tom Hanks comes in with a big book chain and tries to smoosh her. This I am afraid of. Im in Canada and we have larger chains here, not sure whether a book shop would survive. I was thinking about having a shop that had a trandy cafe in it so that you could relax and read your purchase. Just feeling things out. I would love your input! Thanks!
Realistically, the only bookstore that would survive would be a specific niche bookstore. I.e. Metaphysical bookstore, Old Books, Self help bookstore, etc… otherwise you will be swallowed up by the major chains.
Borders bookstore going out of buisness is cable and satalite next
