whats your favorite scene in the movie splash 1984?
the one where tom hanks falls in love with a mermaid
the scene where they’re getting the mermaid out of a laboratory or something and John Candy’s character says something in Swedish to a scientist, and the only thing he knows how to say in Swedish is a line of dialogue from an adult movie.
That was hilarious, a great John Candy moment.
and then there’s also the scene where the mermaid is taking a bath and Tom Hanks tries to open the door, but it’s locked. So he asks why the door is locked and she says that she’s shy. I love Tom Hanks’s response here which is soemthing like
“Well you weren’t shy last night in the bedroom or living room”
