Tom Hanks in Charlie Wilson’s War – Pro-War Propaganda?

Just watched Charlie Wilson’s War with Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks. I’m a big fim fan, but not hugely interested in politics. Does anyone else who has seen the movie think it is pro-war rubbish at its worst. The scene where they yelled,
“Yeah! Let’s kill some Russians” made my stomach churn.
There’s no balance in the film what so ever.
I thumbed you up Monte. I just think in the world its been released in today, it takes on a different meaning…?.

There was not supposed to be any balance. It was loosely based on Charlie Wilson’s life. If it was balanced then that is what we would call propaganda from both sides. It would be like watching a show made up of Bill Maher and Rush Limbaugh. Except Maher would just sit around and and make fun of Rush’s weight. If it made your stomach churn then it was effective. How could you go to a movie where it is about the way the United States ended the cold war, which by the way both sides constantly had their finger on the launch button.
