Is Apollo 13 (film) media footage all genuine?

All of the parts in Apollo 13 (tom hanks movie) when the families are watching the news, or a talk show it looks like its real. I was wondering if the part where a talk show host is kind of teasing Swigert and even says the viewing of Moon missions was down 3 million. If they were all real, than someone really was saying that and then boom all of it started going down hill.
It is footage only of newscasters talking about the mission, and in the case of the talk show host its like his opening monologue. And by real I mean that it actually aired on television during the time of the actual Apollo 13 mission, and was found by film makers and inserted into the movie.
Cause you are right they do have scenes on television with the actors playin astronauts talk so I do not mean those parts.

The parts with Walter Cronkite are real, though they may be edited slightly. There’s also a part where real-life astronaut Wally Schirra is on a newscast but he doesn’t speak. The part with talk show host Dlck Cavett joking about how Swigert is the first bachelor astronaut to go to the Moon and how he has a reputation of having a girl in every port and how he is foolishly optimistic to take nylons and Hershey bars to the Moon is definitely real and it did air on April 13 1970. I have the non-fiction book “Lost Moon: The Perilous Voyage of Apollo 13″ (now retitled “Apollo 13″) by Jim Lovell and Jeffrey Kluger, and it contains these quotes from Cavett on page 4. Cavett actually told Entertainment Weekly that he was surprised to see footage of himself in the movie.
