What is the indie film starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman this quote belongs to:?

“You HAD everything.” (yelled back by the aging woman to the chubby white, long-haired blond man standing on the lawn.)

I think the movie was about a man who had lost his wife. She left him a letter but he refused to accept it. It was critically acclaimed and MAY have starred Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the main character. The incomplete quip I remember is “[This movie] will do for (Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s] career what (Forest Gump did for Tom Hanks]…”

That’s my best guess for the film because this did receive a lot of praise~not just from critics either. I’ve never seen it unfortunately. I’ve been an admirer of the actor’s work since he was quite young. He received a lot of attention for “Flawless”, was noticeable in “Twister”, and generally brings something different to each role. Of course, he was brilliant as Truman Capote in “Capote”.
