Tom Hanks The Pacific Comments

Was Tom Hanks playing a race card for the Obama Admin when he said WW 2 was racist because US dropped A bomb?

It would seem the Administration has played a Race Card before to rally their base, is this incredible story about WW 2 being racist because the US dropped the Atomic Bomb on Japan (yellow people) but only bombed Germany (white people) and then invaded with foot soldiers. The up coming HBO special ‘The Pacific’, produced by Hanks and Spielberg doesn’t touch on that, but Hanks comments were spoken while making a contrast between what the US did in WW 2 and the current US attitude toward Terrorists. Were those racist remarks given to ‘fire-up’ Obama’s base for support in the current Health Insurance reform bill?

It seems as though Hanks was playing the race card. He is certainly guilty of applying today’s standards to yesterday’s history. Hollywood is in love with Barry and in days gone by they used to carry the propaganda baggage for government so it isn’t out of the realm of possibility. There is no doubt Barry would do just about anything to get his beloved health care reform passed, but I don’t know if the two are connected.
