Why did Tom Hanks leave out the most pivotal communication process out of “The Pacific?)?

What happened to all the Navajo Code Talkers in the the HBO series The Pacific? They got no glory at all. The most secure and unbreakable code ever just gets forgotten, like its people who saved every European settler in America.

Because the show was only focused on three characters. You’ll notice they didn’t mention huge costly battles like Tarawa or New Guinea either. Hell they only gave Iwo Jima about 10 minutes just to show Bastilone getting killed, and that is probably the most iconic battle of the whole theater. The show was meant to focus on the individual experience of a handful of men, all of which were privates/low noncoms, and probably not even aware that the US was using Navajo as a code. Relax man, we know.
