The first poster yanked his answer verbatim from the AOLTV site–and that article shows very much a double standard. If somehow he’d mistook Regis’s name, Regis would’ve mocked him for a full hour.
Kelly has a right to be mad. It was just downright disrespectful not to be aware of the female host. Whose show are you on, Tom?
Hanks has got great charm; he should have been falling out of the chair apologizing. That would have saved it. The backhanded apology just made it worse.
Tom’s got the charm when he turns it on. He needed it then.
