What do you think of the new WW2 TV Show The Pacific?

The ratings for this program have gone through the roof!, also millions was spend on expert and veteran knowledge.

This has to be the most accurate and amazing war segment I have ran into!

Thanks Tom Hanks and Spielberg for putting together the Pacific Theater!

I’m kinda hoping they’ll be kind and put it on the web so that folks who miss an episode can catch it there. You know, not the day it first airs cause then why even bother turning to HBO on your TV, but maybe a day or so later.

Of course the ratings are gonna be through the roof, it’s kinda like a follow up to Band of Brothers. I’d first learned about The Pacific last year when I was looking up Dale Dye online. Dye’s the guy who played Colonel Robert Sink in Band of Brothers and he was also the senior military advisor for the miniseries. Which he did for The Pacific as well, senior military advisor. So when I was looking at his info it mentioned he was working on The Pacific and info on that said it was supposed to be similar to Band of Brothers, but with the focus more on Marines than Army paratroopers.

With Hanks and Spielberg returning as the executive producers and The Pacific said to be similar to a mini-series which won both six Emmys and a Golden Globe it’s not really a shock it’s got high ratings. If it’s even half as good as Band of Brothers then I’d expect it to win several awards itself.
